BREAKING: Manchester United are considered frontrunners to sign Michael Olise should the winger leave Crystal Palace in the summer

Michael Olise, a Crystal Palace forward, is regarded in ‘very high regard’ at Manchester United, and the Red Devils ‘need’ a player of his level, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Jones believes Man United will be’very surprised’ if they are not in talks to sign Olise in the forthcoming transfer season and describes the Frenchman as a ‘jewel’.

Olise reportedly has a release clause of around £70 million, which could be activated this summer as many Premier League clubs remain keen.

Despite an injury-plagued season, Olise shined for Palace when he was available, scoring 10 goals and assisting six in 19 Premier League matches.

The winger, along with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze, established a dominant front three this season, but the trio is unlikely to be at Selhurst Park next season.

Man United currently has plenty of squad depth in Olise’s position, but Jones tells GIVEMESPORT that the Red Devils would not want to pass up a player of his ability.

He said:

“Olise is a player who is highly regarded at Old Trafford, and I would be shocked if they are not in talks to sign him in the summer.

“A right-sided forward is not the most pressing position to address, but Olise is a gem, and his statistics back it up. You don’t want to miss out on athletes like these because of the influence they can have in the coming years.Image

“For decades, United fans have had players who could elevate them from their seats. They need another of those, and Olise is unique in that regard.

Erik ten Hag’s side has struggled for goals this season, scoring 58 in 38 Premier League games, the same number as Olise’s current club, Crystal Palace.

The arrival of Olise would be a move in the right direction for Manchester United next season. The Red Devils are reportedly eager to build around young players Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Kobbie Mainoo, who have all impressed this season.
