The decision regarding whether to pursue Mason Greenwood will be made by BORUSSIA DORTMUND next week.

As they get ready for Saturday’s Champions League final matchup between Real Madrid and Manchester United, the German team is keeping an eye on his circumstances there.

Mason Greenwood is being watched by Borussia Dortmund.

Although Greenwood, 22, spent this season on loan at Getafe, where he appeared in 33 La Liga games and scored eight goals, he is anticipated to return to Old Trafford in the summer.

Greenwood, who has one year left on his contract, has also been watched by Juventus and Atletico Madrid; however, Dortmund, who signed winger Jadon Sancho on loan from United in January, may suddenly be a potential destination.

“I don’t want to talk about any rumours now at the moment because it makes no sense,” stated Sebastian Kehl, sporting director of Dortmund, during the club’s Champions League media day.

Saturday is when we should play that final.

“We certainly consider various scenarios and have ideas for the upcoming season, but nothing for now.

“Now let’s get focused, watch for that game on Saturday, and then we’ll see how we go from there.”

When asked whether Greenwood is a player that Dortmund looks up to, Kehl responded, “I don’t want to talk about that right now.”

Since making an appearance at Old Trafford in January 2022’s 1-0 Premier League victory against West Ham, Greenwood has not appeared on the pitch for United.

After establishing the existence of “social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence,” Greater Manchester Police arrested him one week later on suspicion of rape and assault.

Due to the absence of important witnesses, the charges were withdrawn in February 2023.Greenwood won player of the year after making an impression at Getafe in Madrid.

The player should receive a transfer fee from United, even though they wish to keep him on loan.

However, United will force Greenwood’s contract to be extended by one year if he does go out on loan once more.
