According to reports from Tuttosport, Liverpool is planning to acquire Brazilian midfielder Ederson. The 24-year-old star has impressed while playing for Atalanta.
Ederson made a significant impact during Atalanta’s journey to winning the Europa League. The Brazilian midfielder delivered a standout performance as Atalanta defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League final.
His impressive performances have caught the attention of several top European clubs, including Liverpool. Last season, Ederson and Atalanta knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League. This season, Ederson has contributed 7 goals and 1 assist in 52 appearances. He has also helped Atalanta reach the Coppa Italia final and secure a fifth-place finish in Serie A.
Reportedly, Liverpool has been impressed by Ederson’s performances and sees him as a quality addition to bolster their midfield. Following the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, Liverpool currently only has Wataru Endo in the defensive midfield position. The Kop is in need of another top-class holding midfielder for the upcoming season.
