Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood trained with his 7-year-old boots at Getafe following being sacked by Nike

Greenwood practiced with his new squad, Getafe, in seven-year-old boots after Nike dismissed him.

The attacker was seen exercising with his Getafe teammates as he prepares for his La Liga debut later this month.

Greenwood kicked his first ball for Getafe.

He wore Nike footwear that was seven years old.

Last year, Greenwood’s contract with Nike was cancelled.

Even though Nike terminated his contract in 2022, he continued to wear Nike Mercurial Superfly 4 boots.

A few days ago, Greenwood was spotted training alone in a park with his father. This is the first time in almost a year that he has practiced with the entire team.

Greenwood attended the June jam in the park wearing black Nike Phantom GX boots.

He has not signed a new contract with any boot company since Nike sacked him.

We don’t think Greenwood is match fit, and photographs of him in the gym suggest he is more concerned with power and fitness.

Getafe also uploaded footage of fans encouraging Greenwood to train on a field outside Madrid.

“We love you, Mason Greenwood” was inscribed on it.

The 21-year-old goalscorer has been given an opportunity to return to football by the La Liga club.

“Hi Getafe fans, it’s Mason here,” he wrote in a greeting.

“I’m so glad to be here, and I can’t wait to begin.”

Getafe also posted an image of Greenwood holding up the club’s blue home strip on Twitter.

“Mason Greenwood ya esta aqui” (English for “Mason Greenwood is here”) was written underneath it.

The Spanish club revealed the deal only minutes before the summer transfer window closed on Friday.

If he stays in Spain for a time, United will pay the majority of his £75,000-per-week wage. They will not levy lending fees.

A club release added, “The move gives Greenwood a chance to start over with his career away from Manchester United.”

During this time of change, the club will continue to help Mason and his family.”

Following an investigation into why Greenwood was being held, United announced that he and the club had “mutually agreed” to split ways.

He was imprisoned in October of last year, but in February, the Crown Prosecution Service dismissed all allegations against him.

Greenwood’s contract can be extended by the club for another year if they like. He has another two years to go.

If the club had failed to get rid of him, they would have had to pay more than £8 million.

This comes after further details about Greenwood’s move to Getafe emerged, including the striker’s uniform number and £75,000-per-week wage.
