With their public platforms and large compensation contracts, sports stars are rarely short of memorable Halloween performances, and this year is no exception.

Players from the past and present donned carnival costumes, impressing spectators with pristine and often meticulous recreations of some of television and film’s most known characters. 

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho lightened the mood after last weekend’s humbling derby defeat to Manchester City by dressing up as classic superheroes with their family. 

Garnacho and partner Eva Garcia dressed up as The Incredibles for their first Halloween after their kid was born. The pair couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share a cute snapshot of their two dogs, Burrows and Freko. 

The 19-year-old posed for photos with United teammate Facundo Pellistri, who was costumed to perfection as Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man.
