Sofyan Amrabat repays Erik Ten Hag’s faith with a fine midfield performance against Arsenal

Sofyan Amrabat, a Manchester United midfielder, delivered his greatest performance of the season in the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Arsenal on Sunday evening.

The Morocco international joined the Red Devils on loan from Fiorentina last summer, and it was expected that he would battle with Casemiro for a spot.Ten Hag đưa Amrabat trở lại khi Man United giải bài toán phòng ngự trước Man City | CHUYÊN TRANG THỂ THAO

Manager Erik ten Hag initially put the 27-year-old out of position at left-back, and he has subsequently made few starts for the Red Devils in any competition.

Despite the persistent injury issue, Amrabat received a surprising call-up to face the Gunners. The midfielder demonstrated his worth with a strong all-around effort spanning 87 minutes.Màn trình diễn hay nhất của Sofyan Amrabat trong màu áo M.U | Bóng Đá

The former Club Brugge player had 84 touches and completed 63 of his 71 passes, for an accuracy rate of 89 percent.

He also won four ground duels and made two tackles. His presence at the number six position allowed Kobbie Mainoo to operate higher up the field for United.

Amrabat joins the club with a strong reputation following a successful World Cup with Morocco. He was also key in Fiorentina’s good finish to the previous season.

However, things have not gone as expected for him at United. The board made a large loan of €10 million to sign him, with an option to acquire for an initial €20 million.

He has only played 1,300 minutes under Ten Hag. Some fans may believe he should have had more playing time now that Casemiro is past his peak.

With only three games left in the season, it is doubtful that United would use their option to sign him permanently from Fiorentina this summer.

Amrabat is still anticipated to attract a lot of attention. Juventus are one of the front-runners to recruit him, while AC Milan is also expected to make an offer.
