Steph Curry expressed his relationship with Andrew Wiggins using the ‘parent-child’ analogy

Fans are well aware of Warriors star Steph Curry’s close relationship with teammates Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Curry’s relationship with the rest of the squad, on the other hand, has received little attention. The Golden State Warriors will miss their first postseason since 2020-21 after falling to the Sacramento Kings. Curry and his colleagues, notably Andrew Wiggins, will have the full offseason to consider their future steps.

Andrew Wiggins’ inconsistency this season spurred the squad to call on him to step up, causing tension inside. Given his struggles, there have been rumors concerning his future with the squad, and they may consider trading him. Curry recently discussed his connection with Wiggins.

“It’s like that parent-child relationship – not to say he’s a child – where you only ask somebody to do what you know they’re capable of doing,” Curry remarked about the forward’s fit with the club at Monday’s press conference.Stephen Curry On Andrew Wiggins: "It's Like That Parent-Child Relationship"

Wiggins has accepted the team’s support for him. The celebrity admitted that he didn’t have the best season and underperformed.

“My season was not terrific or outstanding. I feel like I started improving in the second half of the season. But the first half wasn’t very good,” Wiggins said.

Since joining the Warriors in 2020, Wiggins has exceeded his previous stint with the Timberwolves, who chose him first overall in 2014. In 2022, the two-way forward made his first career All-Star appearance.

Wiggins’ stats dipped this season, averaging 13.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. He also shot 35.8% from deep, which was his lowest efficiency as a Warrior.

The 2023-24 season proved difficult for the Warriors, particularly Wiggins. Throughout the season, he had to attend to personal concerns with his family, causing him to miss several games. Steph Curry has always been a source of encouragement for his teammates, but he saw that Wiggins needed it the most this season.

“That message is for everybody, it’s just a little louder when it’s a guy like Wiggs,” Curry stated.

Curry has constantly supported Wiggins this season, recognizing his importance on the court. Regrettably, the Warriors will be unable to demonstrate their current potential to supporters following their loss.
