Manchester United fans have requested that Casemiro retire immediately after being “sent back to Brazil” by Michael Olise.

The Crystal Palace midfielder opened the goal at Selhurst Park on Monday, as United fell down early.

The Frenchman then raced forward into the United penalty area and fired a low shot into the bottom corner.

He was given plenty of room after Casemiro dashed forward from central defence, where the midfielder was filling in owing to the Red Devils’ injury problems.

Supporters were quick to criticize the 32-year-old on social media, with one commenting, “Casemiro should retire.”

Another said, “Olise is sending Casemiro back to Manchester.”

A third fan agreed, commenting, “Olise sent Casemiro back to Brazil there.”

Meanwhile, another wrote, “Casemiro forgetting he’s playing centre-back.”

Erik ten Hag’s reaction also appeared to be captured by Sky Sports cameras.

In the 24th minute, United’s manager summoned Casemiro to the sideline for a tactical discussion.

In a harsh critique of his performance, Jamie Carragher even advocated for him to be substituted at halftime.

The ex-Liverpool defender told Sky Sports: “They need to bring him off.

“Nothing could be worse than playing Casemiro at center-back this second half.”

Casemiro had a forgettable first half at Selhurst Park.

Ten Hag has been obliged to play the former Real Madrid player in central defense for the past three games.

United are currently without Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, and Willy Kambwala due to injuries.

Their injury problems have left Jonny Evans, who has only just regained fitness, as the sole fit senior center-back.
