Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes, has hinted that he may leave Old Trafford this summer. The Portuguese player has been one of the club’s standout stars since joining Sporting CP in January 2021. Bruno has consistently topped the goal-scoring and assist charts for Manchester United each season. He could be a victim of the rumored moves to sell their top players, which have been approved by the club’s new co-owners, INEOS.
The Manchester United captain further complicated the situation by telling DAZN Portugal, “I’m not thinking about anything else at the moment. Obviously, that doesn’t just depend on me, right? A player always wants to stay here, but at the same time, the club has to want the player to stay. Right now, I feel that from both sides. I’m not thinking too much about the future, at least because this season hasn’t reached the level I hoped for – both individually and collectively – until now. If I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, that will have to wait until after the Euros.”
Manchester United fans will undoubtedly have mixed emotions about the possibility of the midfielder’s departure. He has been one of the club’s top players in the post-Ferguson era. Bruno has scored a total of 79 goals and provided 64 assists in 230 appearances for the Red Devils. However, they will have to wait until summer to learn more about their captain’s future.
