Marcus Rashford, Manchester United’s attacker, has revealed a frightening insight into his current dissatisfaction.
Much has been made of Marcus Rashford’s performance this season. He has scored eight goals, a significant reduction from his career high of 30 last year.
The Manchester United forward is currently out following an injury acquired during the FA Cup semi-final.
He is competing for a spot in the Euro 2024 squad and may even compete for a berth in the cup final if other players step up in his absence.
Rashford is unlikely to return for United’s game against Burnley this weekend unless Erik ten Hag provides a positive update during his pre-game press conference.
Marcus Rashford’s message
Many have noticed that Marcus Rashford appears uncomfortable on the pitch for Manchester United at times, and there was a high-profile incident in January when he was photographed drinking in Belfast.
Rashford is one of United’s most visible players, and there is no hiding spot at a club where criticism is always severe, particularly given United’s terrible season on the pitch.
Rashford wrote in the Players’ Tribune prior to the Manchester derby, providing a personal glimpse into his mentality.
While he scored against City, United lost, and his and the club’s fortunes have been hit and miss ever since.
The MEN reported this week that Coventry City players were’staggered’ at how ‘terrible’ Rashford was in the FA Cup semi-final.
He may not have been amazing, but he was far from the worst player on the field.
Rashford is feeling some of the criticism and has gone to X to vent his dissatisfaction.
He responded to a message that stated, “The way Marcus Rashford is being treated is absolutely disgusting.” It is cruel. “It is abuse.”
Rashford wrote, “I appreciate your support! It is abuse, and has been for some months. “Enough is enough.”
He also altered his profile image to a completely blacked out icon.
Our advise for Marcus Rashford
Our advise to Marcus Rashford is simple: for his own good, get off social media.
While it is undoubtedly good to receive some supportive comments, he must do his best to block out all of the noise.
It doesn’t sound like Rashford is in a good place, and we hope he can find a way to turn things around while working on his fitness.
If his mind is in a good place, his performance on the field may improve. There is still something to play for this season. Who knows, he could end up winning the FA Cup final.
