Manchester United’s leadership has invited Kobbie Mainoo to sign a new contract with a lucrative salary and bonuses following his impressive performances in midfield for the Red Devils this season. At the age of 18, Mainoo has emerged as a key player in MU’s midfield during the latter half of the 2023/24 season.

According to football expert Fabrizio Romano, the new management team at Ineos is ready to increase Mainoo’s salary to make him a symbol of MU’s development project under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Romano tweeted, “MU is pushing negotiations to extend Kobbie Mainoo’s contract. Talks started in February, and they hope to finalize everything this summer. Ineos wants to turn Mainoo into the face of their new project at the club. The agreement will include a salary raise and additional benefits.”

Currently, Kobbie Mainoo earns £20,000 per week. This figure is expected to triple to £60,000 per week once he signs a new contract with the Old Trafford club.

Mainoo has made 27 appearances for the Red Devils this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. His outstanding performances have earned him a call-up to the England national team. Mainoo made his debut for the Three Lions in friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium last month and performed well.

Ineos aims to continue the club’s tradition of providing opportunities for young talents to develop through the academy. In addition to Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Willy Kambwala are two other names that have regularly featured in MU’s first team this season.
