However, the name Salah seems to have extinguished that fragile hope. In the 39th minute, Salah had a golden opportunity to help Liverpool double the gap, but the Egyptian international had an unbelievable lob that caused the ball to go wide of the goal.

Salah played 66 minutes on the field and had 1 shot on goal, dribbled 1/2 times, passed the ball 72% successfully, won 1 duel and lost the ball 10 times.

After the match, Jurgen Klopp affirmed that he did not care about Mo Salah’s performance for Liverpool.

Klopp said: “I’m not concerned. That’s what strikers do, that’s what happens to strikers. He’s had to go through that, he’s one of the most experienced players in the team.”

“It’s not that Salah hasn’t missed opportunities before in his life, it’s part of the game. Super convincing penalty, a super penalty then the next chance is unlucky but this is not the first time he has missed such a big chance.”

“I don’t make a big deal about it, whatever you think about it is fine but I don’t particularly care.”

Salah will certainly still be an important factor for Liverpool in the rest of the season when the Red Brigade must focus all their efforts on the Premier League front, currently Klopp’s army is 2 points behind Man City’s leading position.
