Bruno Fernandes demonstrated his leadership as Manchester United captain by single-handedly rescuing his team twice to secure a draw against Bournemouth. However, the overall performance of Erik ten Hag’s side has been underwhelming, with only three points gained from their last four league matches. 
Their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League have faded, and now they must focus on securing a spot in the Europa League or even the Conference League. In the first half, United struggled to contain Bournemouth’s attacks, conceding a goal to Dominic Solanke. Justin Kluivert extended Bournemouth’s lead shortly after Fernandes equalized. Despite Fernandes hitting the crossbar before halftime, United did not deserve to be level as they conceded numerous shots on target.
In the second half, Fernandes once again equalized, this time from the penalty spot after a handball by Adam Smith. Bournemouth thought they had a late penalty, but VAR overturned the decision after recognizing a foul outside the box. United’s defensive performance was lackluster, with Andre Onana being one of the few bright spots, making important saves. Willy Kambwala struggled against Solanke but improved in the second half, although he almost gave away a penalty. Harry Maguire had to clean up the mess left by his fellow defenders, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka adapted well to playing out of position at left-back. 
In midfield, Kobbie Mainoo provided control despite some loose passing, and Casemiro improved in the second half. Bruno Fernandes continued his goal-scoring form but lacked consistency in his overall play. The attacking trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, and Marcus Rashford had a disappointing performance, with Rashford failing to create chances. 
Amad Diallo made a positive impact as a substitute, providing United with more control. Mason Mount had limited involvement during his brief appearance. Erik ten Hag’s decision to bring on Amad helped United gain stability, but their overall performance was erratic, and their point tally in recent matches is unsatisfactory.
