Manchester United drew 2-2 against Liverpool in the Premier League.
After a dreadful first half, two miracle goals from Bruno Fernandes and academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo propelled the Red Devils to victory.
However, Mohamed Salah’s penalty following a clumsy Aaron Wan-Bissaka challenge ensured that the points were split on the night. Bruno and Kobbie both scored stunning goals, and they deserve credit for United securing at least a point on the night.
Erik ten Hag’s team had several standout players. Harry Maguire and Willy Kambwala were both fantastic, but we’d like to pay tribute to another defender who was just amazing against Liverpool.
Diogo Dalot deserves enormous credit for Liverpool’s performance.
Diogo Dalot, as he has been several times this season, was outstanding for Manchester United.
Given his rare disaster of a performance against Chelsea, Dalot just needed to come out against Jurgen Klopp’s team and perform well to recover the trust of Manchester United fans. He did exactly that.
Moving forward, he was one of the few United players capable of carrying the ball well. He was the driving force for the most of the few US attacks.
Aside from the goal, which was not his fault, Dalot kept the tricky Columbian, Luis Diaz, quiet. He frequently won his duels against him.
Don’t take our word for it; Rio Ferdinand also praised the defense. “Dalot I thought was exceptional at times as well,” Rio said on his YouTube page.
His quality performance is shown in his game statistics:
90 minutes played.Pass accuracy: 37/41 (90%)57 touches, 100% successful dribbling.0 times dispossessed.1 block, 8 defensive actions.7 duels won, 3 lost, and 1 interception.

Gary Neville believes Diogo Dalot is Manchester United’s Player of the Season.
With the season coming to a close, the Player of the Year Award will be discussed, and no one is more deserved than the Portuguese defender.
The £19 million guy has definitely come into his own, as Gary Neville concurred. Speaking on Sky Sports commentary in the first half, the United veteran stated that Dalot has been United’s “most consistent player this season,” with Mainoo a close second.
Dalot is proving all of his skeptics wrong once more. Long may it continue.
