Haaland, who is 22 years old, won a record-breaking hat trick with the Cityzens. There were 52 goals scored by the Norwegian in all competitions. Now that he has some time off, he is relaxing and getting ready for the next season.
As Haaland and Future met, fans responded on social media. One Twitter user wrote:
“Add this to the weirdest link ups file.”
Here are some of the best Twitter reactions as Manchester City’s Norwegian striker Erling Haaland met up with rapper Future:
Rio Ferdinand likened Erling Haaland of Manchester City to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Erling Haaland dominated the Premier League in his debut season in England. In the English Premier League, he set a new record with 36 goals in 38 games. Even more impressively, Haaland scored 12 goals in the UEFA Champions League.
Haaland was instrumental in Manchester City’s successful season. Rio Ferdinand continued by saying the Norwegian was like Cristiano Ronaldo in his mindset. According to Ferdinand’s comments made to Eurosport,
“It’s the mindset. I mean, that’s the separator. That separates the good from the great. This guy is going to be relentless, you can see it. I see shades of Cristiano in the mentality.”
He added:
“When you look in his eyes it’s not just about selfish me wanting to be the focal point and score every single goal and every ball has to come to me. He’s about the functionality of the team and he’s playing his role perfectly.”
Apart from Haaland’s predatory instincts in front of goal, his mentality is something to behold. The 22-year-old is the utmost professional and has a great work ethic. Hence, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Haaland is taking European football by storm at this point.
