Liverpool and LeBron James have once again teamed up to create a new collection of custom athletic and streetwear, marking the second collaboration between them. The initial Liverpool FC x LeBron collection was released in February 2023, coinciding with James becoming the all-time leading points scorer in NBA history. Now, following his milestone of reaching 40,000 career points, James has introduced the LBJ x LFC Chapter 2 collection. Over the years, James has developed a strong connection with Liverpool, being both a fan and a minority shareholder since 2011. The new collection combines elements from football and basketball, featuring a limited edition hoop jersey, a football shirt, and a fresh take on James’ Nike LeBron sneakers, all incorporating a color scheme reminiscent of Liverpool’s teal away strip. The jerseys bear the iconic “YNWA” (“You’ll Never Walk Alone”) print, along with James’ personal mantra “SFG” (Strive For Greatness). The football shirt, adorned with gold and teal accents, showcases a tonal checkerboard pattern incorporating squares, stripes, the aforementioned mantras, and the Liverpool club crest alongside James’ “King James” logo. The basketball version features a mix of blue and teal with black and gold details, maintaining the same pattern, crests, and embellishments. The lightweight sneakers, officially named the LFC x LeBron Nike NXXT Gen Amplified trainers, are white with a teal sole, and the Liverpool “Liver bird” club crest is prominently displayed in gold on the tongue and heel. The broader clothing line includes t-shirts, a warm-up top, and a jacket, modeled by Liverpool stars such as Alisson Becker, Ryan Gravenberch, Taylor Hinds, and Andy Robertson. Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, looking to lead his team to their second Premier League title in five years, expressed his excitement about the collaboration with James, while vice-captain Taylor Hinds emphasized the blend of basketball and football in this remarkable partnership between LFC and LBJ.
