Andy Robertson has received encouraging news regarding his ankle ιnjury, providing hope for his swift return to the Liverpool squad as they compete in the intense Premier League title race. The 30-year-old left-back experienced ankle discomfort while on international duty, causing concern among fans and the team management.
Upon his return to Liverpool, Robertson underwent scans which revealed that the ιnjury is not as serious as initially feared. While his availability for upcoming matches remаins uncertain, with Liverpool facing a packed schedule of three games in eight days starting from Sunday, the ιnjury is not expected to keep him out for an extended period of time.
Robertson’s premature exit from Scotland’s match against Northern Ireland, where his teammate Conor Bradley scored the winning goal, brought back memories of his previous ιnjury setback. Earlier in the season, he suffered a dislocated shoulder while on international duty, resulting in a three-month absence and requiring surgery.
However, the current ankle issue seems to be more manageable, described as an impact-related knock similar to the one experienced by Wataru Endo during the Carabao Cup final. Endo’s quick return to training after a brief recovery period brings optimism for Robertson’s rehabilitation process.
