Haaland secured a five-year contract paying a whopping £375,000 per week.
The deal was football’s worst-kept secret, with City long rumoured to sign the great player.
But one thing surprised everyone, including Haaland himself…
During his medical, City doctors measured the gigantic forward at 1.952m, or nearly 6ft 5in.
Incredibly, when learning his height, Haaland seemed perplexed before remarking, “Oh wow, I’ve grown… almost one centimetre.”
Manchester City provided supporters a behind-the-scenes look at the former Borussia Dortmund player’s medical.
The film opened with Haaland landing in Barcelona for the first leg of his physical, when he met new teammates Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias at Dr. Ramon Cugat’s clinic.
The City defenders were quick to congratulate their new comrade on his move.
The cameras then followed him on a private flight to Manchester, where he underwent fitness exams at the MIHP medical center.
Haaland, who joins City precisely 21 years after his father Alf-Inge relocated from Leeds, then paid his first visit to the club’s training facility, where he was greeted by City legend Mike Summerbee.
He then met several staff members in the office and kitchen before running into departed captain Fernandinho and his son.
Haaland performed a number of internal media tasks, including posing in their new uniform and reenacting the famous photo of him wearing the jersey as a toddler while his father, Alf-Inge, played.
He then cemented the deal by signing his contract alongside director of football Txiki Begiristain, before posing for the photographers.
On Monday morning, Haaland was formally presented as Manchester City’s first summer signing.
Speaking about his decision to sign for City, the ex-Borussia Dortmund man said: “This is a proud day for me and my family.
“I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons.
“You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.
“There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest managers of all time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.
“I want to score goals, win trophies, and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here.
“This is a great move for me, and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.”
