The Hungarian national football team, which is preparing for the summer European Championship, defeated the visiting Kosovo squad 2-0 on Tuesday in a friendly at the Puskás Arena.
In the first encounter between the two teams, Dominik Szoboszlai led on a rebounding shot in the 58th minute, and Zsolt Nagy scored in the 86th. Marco Rossi established a new team with Attila Mocsi, who came in as a substitute, and with his 61st match, he passed Kálmán Mészöly for third position in the federation captains list.
The Hungarians are now undefeated in 14 matches, the longest streak since 1954, when the famed Golden Team lost the World Cup final in Bern. Puskás failed to find a winner in 18 encounters.
The national squad will next play as a guest of the Irish on June 4 at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, as part of its preparation for the European Championship.
