According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid is studying the position of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield.
According to the transfer expert, the Reds intend to let go of their right-back despite Los Blancos’ expressed desire to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The full-back is frequently utilized in an inverted role, allowing him to utilize his great passing range from a midfield position. Alexander-Arnold, on the other hand, is now out due to injury and has missed 11 games in total since February.
Romano posted an update on the 25-year-old, who is under contract with the Reds until 2025, on his X account (previously Twitter):
“Real Madrid are monitoring Trent Alexandre Arnold’s contract situation at Liverpool. Current deal expires in June’ 25 with no talks underway as of now. Liverpool have not indicated any desire to sell at this stage. There’s no indication of the player’s views so far.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been replaced by Conor Bradley while he recovers from injury. The 20-year-old has performed admirably when given the opportunity and might provide England with challenge for a starting spot at Anfield.
If Alexander-Arnold chooses to join Real Madrid, he will most likely replace an ageing Dani Carvajal at right-back. Overall, the defender has made 302 appearances across competitions for the Merseysiders, scoring 18 goals and assisting 82 times after rising through the ranks at his club.
Alexander-Arnold has won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles with his current club, among other accolades.
