Erling Haaland says he flies Norwegian salmon to the UK because…the fish at the stadium ‘isn’t up to scratch

Supreme sportsmen are known for being fussy eaters.

But Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has taken his famed preferences to the next level, requesting that the Premier League winners import his favorite Norwegian salmon, prepared only by the best chefs.

The 23-year-old Yorkshire-born striker is claimed to be so fed up with the food at the Etihad Campus training facility that he has persuaded authorities to acquire fish from his childhood home in Scandinavia.

The seafood switch-up has also been enthusiastically received by club staff, according to one insider who told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Haaland’s been banging on about the fish.

‘He liked salmon, so he asked the nutritionist to arrange for the best fish restaurant in Norway to send their kitchen crew over. It cost the club a fortune, but it’s the greatest fish I’ve ever eaten.
