Twenty-five minutes into the Young Lions’ U21 European Championship away match against Azerbaijan, the Liverpool midfielder opened the score.

Elliott received a cross from Reds teammate Tyler Morton, who is on loan, and evaded the offside trap at the back post to finish beyond the goalkeeper.

Midway through the second half, Elliott scored from just outside the six-yard box, hitting the mark once more.

With the double, the 20-year-old has scored seven goals in his previous five England U21 matches.

After 75 minutes, Elliott was replaced by Jarell Quansah, who was not used.

Trey Nyoni, Jayden Danns, and Amara Nallo all made their England debuts at the U18 level.

At the U18 Pinatar Suρer Cup, England won a penalty shootout 5-3 thanks to a goal from Danns, after the team drew goalless with Germany.

Bobby Clark, Kaide Gordon, and Reds loanee Luke Chambers all came on as second-half substitutes for England’s Elite Squad (U20s), which defeated Poland 5-1.

In the meantime, Lewis Koumas’s debut for Wales U21s proved to be the match-winner as he came off the bench to score in a 2-1 victory over Lithuania in U21 European Championship qualifying.
