Kobbie Mainoo is motivated to maintain his success for Manchester United, which he hopes will earn him a berth in England’s Euros squad.
The teenage phenom has been on Gareth Southgate’s radar, and despite only making his first appearance in November, he is already making an impact in the Three Lions squad. Mainoo has been a shining spot in an otherwise uneven season for the Red Devils.
United’s academy prodigy has long been projected for huge things, and he’s poised to make an impact in midfield alongside Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, and Phil Foden. England will play friendlies against Brazil and Belgium in the following days.
After that, Mainoo is ready to rip into the final few months of the season, with United chasing down Aston Villa and Tottenham while still hoping for an FA Cup victory. If the 18-year-old continues to impress, he hopes to be on a flight to Germany.

Manchester United stars have already made their thoughts clear over Gareth Southgate replacing Erik ten. Hag
Mainoo stated, “It’s been a very crazy couple of days. It was incredible to arrive here and realise I was part of the first team. I was astonished and thrilled – it’s been a roller coaster of feelings, I suppose. But being in England is an incredible opportunity, and I am enjoying it so far.
“I believe making the Euros squad is the ultimate goal for the season.” It would be an honour to be permitted to board the jet. I mean, there is a lot of time between now and then. However, I believe that if I return to my club and perform well, everything will fall into place.”
England’s midfield is regarded as one of their best sections, but Mainoo hopes to continue his meteoric ascent and compete in the major tournament this summer. Southgate has demonstrated a willingness to support youth during his tenure.
The teenager has seen his stock grow as a result of his Manchester United performances.
The Three Lions boss has called up the United player, who was previously scheduled to play for the U21s during the international break. Southgate indicated that he wants Mainoo to play more games before being called up to the senior team.
United manager Erik ten Hag has showered praise on his young star, challenging him to keep improving: “All that I can see, and what I saw, is that high potential. He consistently achieves excellent levels. He performs at a greater level in every training session and game. So he has a lot of promise, but it’s up to him to keep the process going, and I’ll have to manage it.”
