Liverpool is reported contemplating the possibility of parting ways with Colombian winger Luis Diaz during the upcoming summer transfer window, and it seems that Barcelona has emerged as a potential destination for the talented player.
According to Colombian outlet El Heraldo (via Centregoals), the Reds are open to considering offers for Diaz if they receive a substantial bid within the range of €120 to €145 million. While Diaz has showcased his flair and skill on the field this season, uncertainty surrounds his future at Anfield.
If Liverpool were to secure a deal within this price range, it could potentially become the club’s most lucrative sale to date, surpassing the €135 million received from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho back in January 2018. Since joining Jurgen Klopp’s side from FC Porto in January 2022 for €47 million, Diaz has made a notable impact, contributing 11 goals and five assists in 38 appearances across various competitions.
Amidst speculation regarding Diaz’s future, Barcelona, one of the giants in La Liga, has shown interest in acquiring the services of the Colombian international. Diaz’s agent has reported conveyed to Barcelona that any potential deal would need to meet the valuation set by Liverpool, falling within the €120 to €145 million range.
However, Diaz faced criticism for his missed opportunities in Liverpool’s recent 1-1 draw against Manchester City, which denied Klopp’s side the opportunity to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League from Arsenal.
