Ryan Giggs splashes out on gorgeous seven-bedroom mansion – after being forced to lower the price of the old home by £800,000

Ryan Giggs has shelled out on a gorgeous seven-bedroom mansion after being forced to reduce the price of his previous property by £800,000.

The Manchester United icon, 49, has purchased a £2.1 million Cheshire home with former lingerie model lover Zara Charles, 33.

Ryan Giggs has purchased a new property in Cheshire.

The former footballer will move into it with his current girlfriend, Zara Charles.

The property is worth £2.1 million.

A source has informed The Sun that it’s Giggs’ way of proving his dedication to new partner Zara.

The couple has been together since Giggs split from former Kate Greville, 38, when he was detained on accusations of beating her during a drunken argument.

And in September of last year, he sold the £1.7 million property where he reportedly head-butted her.

The former Premier League star then moved in with Zara while awaiting trial.

After the first court appearance, Giggs expressed gratitude to his family and “my girlfriend Zara”.

A source has now informed The Sun that he bought the house as a “sign of commitment to Zara” after her continuing support.

The insider stated, “Everyone knows Ryan has had a rocky love life throughout the years.

“But leaving Worsley, where he had grown up, is a strong statement of will.

“They’ve been through a lot together, and Zara has been Ryan’s continuous support over the last year throughout some trying times.

“Buying the house is a sign of commitment to Zara by Ryan.”

The couple is frequently spotted walking their dog in the neighbourhood and frequents neighbourhood bars and coffee shops.

In January of last year, the former Wales manager sold a five-bedroom property in Worsley, Greater Manchester, that he had previously shared with ex-wife Stacey and their two children.

Giggs was charged with abusing Ms Greville and her 26-year-old sister Emma in November 2020.

He was also accused of domineering and coercive behaviour towards the public relations executive.

He will face a retrial on July 31 after a jury deadlocked on the claims, which he rejects.

Next month, Giggs will return to the football ground with some of his Class of 92 teammates for a charity match in support of Marcus Stewart.

Giggs’ agent was approached for comment.

The former Wales boss purchased the new home after selling his previous one for £800,000 less.

It features seven bedrooms.

Giggs will have a retrial on July 31.
