Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk had a goal disallowed by VAR due to a controversial offside decision in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea. In the 60th minute of the match, Van Dijk thought he had scored after heading in Andy Robertson’s free kιck.
However, after a lengthy VAR review, the goal was ruled offside because Wataru Endo was considered to be obstructing Levi Colwill from an offside position. The decision was met with criticism, with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher describing it as “incredibly harsh.” On the other hand, former Premier League referee Mike Dean believed that the referee had made the correct call.
