Manchester United won a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Wolves at Molineux. The defense made numerous blunders, and it was only owing to Kobbie Mainoo’s goal in the 90+7 minute that the home team at Old Trafford earned all three points.
The Red Devils are now unbeaten in four matches across all competitions but have won only one of their last four at Old Trafford. When West Ham visits the Theatre of Dreams, coach Erik Ten Hag and his players are anticipated to confront numerous challenges.
Coach Ten Hag made few changes to the starting lineup from the triumph over the Wolves. The sole alteration is that Harry Maguire has replaced Raphael Varane.
Arsenal is going to reveal their new contract.
LIVE Manchester United 1-0 West Ham (H1) Hojlund Scores in Football
Hojlund started the scoring for Manchester United.
As expected, West Ham caused significant problems for Manchester United. Andre Onana, the custodian, is frequently called upon to perform a save. In the first half alone, “Sledgehammer” fired 13 shots, compared to only four for Manchester United.
However, the away team’s finishing shots were not particularly accurate. They had only two shots on target, whilst Manchester United had three. Rasmus Hojlund shone at the appropriate time in this match.
In the 23rd minute, as soon as he received the ball in the middle area from Casemiro’s contested rush, Hojlund faked a move with his left foot to eliminate two West Ham players before finishing with his superb right foot from beyond the penalty area, opening the scoring for Manchester United.
This is Hojlund’s fourth Premier League goal, bringing his total to ten goals in all competitions. The Danish striker scored in three consecutive Premier League games. He seems to be “heating up”.
Returning to the game, in the final minutes of the first half, West Ham pressed the field relentlessly in pursuit of an equaliser. Onana, the custodian, fought to keep the ball in the net. However, Manchester United’s defence remained firm.
Hojlund and Garnacho lead Manchester United to victory over West Ham, earning 3 points.
Following the break, West Ham had the first chance. Maguire handled slowly, allowing the West Ham player to steal the ball in his own half. Fortunately, Emerson Palmieri’s shot went over the crossbar. If he had quietly passed to his colleagues inside, West Ham might have scored.
Almost immediately, West Ham suffered an injury blow. With the ball in the penalty area, Alejandro Garnacho’s shot was not hazardous. However, his kick hit a West Ham defender and went straight into the net, giving Manchester United their second goal of the match.
Manchester United played lazily, purposefully ceding possession of the ball to West Ham, and capitalised on counterattack possibilities.
In such a match, Scott McTomiany handed the ball to Garnacho in an unmarked position in the penalty area after gaining possession in the middle of the pitch. The young Argentinian star quickly scored twice, making the score 3-0 for Manchester United.
With three points from this match, the Red Devils surpassed West Ham to rise to sixth place in the Premier League rankings. They are still eight points behind Aston Villa’s top four.
