Inter Miami was defeated 6-0 by Al Nassr in a friendly match at Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
Cristiano Ronaldo was correct when he stated that the Saudi Professional League was well ahead of the American Professional League (MLS). Following Al Hilal, it was Al Nassr’s turn to demonstrate their superior power against their opponent, the defending North and Central American Federation Cup champion.
Lionel Messi was taken aback when his teammates conceded three goals in 12 minutes. In the third minute, Otavio dribbled the ball and shot into the top corner of the goal, opening the scoring for Al Nassr. Anderson Talisca scored a close-range shot in the tenth minute to double the lead.
Three minutes later, supporters at Kingdom Arena were astounded to see midfielder Aymeric Laporte score from home, giving Al Nassr a three-goal lead at the break.
Inter Miami suffered tremendously. Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets are too slow to make an impact against Al Nassr’s formidable defense. All the American squad could do was watch Suarez’s strike be denied by the goalkeeper in the 29th minute.
In the second half, Al Nassr maintained his half-court strategy. In the 48th minute, Otavio was awarded a penalty, which let Talisca complete the double. At minute 68, the score was 5-0 in favor of Al Nasr. Maran added his name to the electronic board with a header. Inter Miami’s nightmare hasn’t ended. Alex Telles completed his hat trick in the 73rd minute by poking Talisca through the slot.
Messi did not enter the game until the 83rd minute. The Argentinian superstar could not help Inter Miami earn even an honorable mention.
The match concluded 6-0 in favor of Al Nassr. Ronaldo was wounded but remained in the stands. He went once the first half had concluded. CR7 is set to return on February 15th, when Al Nassr faces Al Feiha in the AFC Champions League.
