Many of their players have left for the Middle East in search of warmer weather during that time.

Over the weekend, defender Harry Maguire and midfielder Scott McTominay went to The Sevens Stadium to see Ed Sheeran perform live.

After the concert, both couples got to know the 32-year-old singer backstage and posed for photos with the beaming celebrity.

Maguire, meantime, posted a picture on his Instagram story of himself and his partner Fern having a conversation with Sheeran.

The former captain of United enjoyed spending time on the beach with teammate Luke Shaw earlier in the day.

Alongside Jordan Pickford and John McGinn, two more Premier League players, the couple smiled as they posed for pictures on the beach.

With Shaw missing his last three Premier League games and Maguire sidelined since early December, fans will be hoping to see both players return to action shortly.
