‘LIKE FATHER LIKE SON’: Wayne Rooney’s Son Kai, 14, Emulates His Father’s Legacy with Outstanding Display at Manchester United Academy

Kai, Wayne Riley’s son, made a strong comeback from injury to lead Manchester United’s Under-14 team in play.

Like his father, Kai is a forward, and his impressive performances for the academy teams of the Red Devils have thrilled supporters.

Kai Rooney provided supporters with match details. The teenager wants to become a doctor like his father.

The 14-year-old enjoys sharing updates about his adventures on social media with his sizable following.

Kai shared a photo of his Manchester United shirt lying on the floor in the locker room with his 174,000 Instagram followers following a game over the weekend.

In a 6-0 victory over Leeds, he declared to have scored twice and assisted two more goals.

The match, Kai said, had been his first since returning from “months out.”

The teenager’s young team accomplishments have previously thrilled supporters.

He scored in a cup final victory over Manchester City the previous year.

The following month, supporters even compared his chest control technique to that of his renowned father, Manchester United’s and England’s all-time top goalscorer.

Of Rooney’s four sons—Klay, age ten; Joseph, age seven; and Cass, age five—Kai is the oldest.

Though his father had always been a Nike athlete, Kai, who was the exact replica of his father Wayne, was signed to be a Puma model in 2022.
