Tom Brady, a former quarterback, has cautioned quarterbacks against hastily dismissing head coaches.
Among those let go after the NFL season concluded were Mike Vrabel, Bill Belichick, and Arthur Smith. Following their teams’ shocking playoff losses, supporters of the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are demanding the head coaches of both teams be fired.
On the Let’s Go! Podcast, Tom Brady expressed his opinion that Mike McCarthy shouldn’t be fired by the Cowboys following yet another early playoff elimination.
Brady remarked, “You can’t put a loss like yesterday on one coach.” “One mistake cannot be the cause of a full loss. One squad allowed 45 points, and quarterbacks were converting interceptions into scores. Yes, all of us are accountable. That’s the main idea. Man, we’re all in this together. And it’s fantastic when we triumph. And we’re all in this together even when we lose.
McCarthy acknowledges he was taken aback by the way the season concluded despite having a contract that runs through 2024. The team lost to the Green Bay Packers 48–32.
McCarthy remarked, “I think the biggest thing is that we’re disappointed.” “Everyone on my team is hurting in the locker room. I haven’t given this game’s conclusion any thought. I doubt that anyone anticipated this. We completed it in none of the phases.”Jerry Jones on the future of Mike McCarthy
Jerry Jones stated going into the postseason that he would assess the Dallas Cowboys one game at a time and decide whether to make any significant adjustments.
When asked about McCarthy’s future as the Cowboys head coach following the defeat, Jones responded that he hadn’t given it any thought.
“I haven’t given it a single thought,” Jones declared. “I was thinking only about preparing for this week’s playoff game. I’m in awe of our current location as we sit.
It is unclear if Jones would fire McCarthy, but if he does, quarterback Tom Brady believes it would be a mistake because the coach shouldn’t be held accountable.
Of course, Dak Prescott, who acknowledged he was awful, and the Cowboy’s defense let Dallas down. Deep in Cowboys territory, Prescott found the Packers with a pick-six and another interception.
Even after another early playoff loss, if Tom Brady were still in control of the Cowboys, he wouldn’t make any drastic moves, like firing McCarthy.
