LeBron James showcased how his Foundation is redefining community by taking his Lakers teammates and staff on a tour of Akron.
The new museum in Akron that NBA player LeBron James opened is something “we can all be proud of,” he added.
As the Los Angeles Lakers prepared to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, a large crowd gathered at House Three Thirty in Akron to learn more about the legendary career of the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
On Saturday morning, the public could visit LeBron James’ Home Court museum. The Akron Kid’s Foundation renovated the Tangier restaurant structure to use as the museum.
The arena is next to St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, where James excelled during his junior year. The trip takes roughly three minutes.
The Cleveland downtown area is approximately forty-four minutes away from the Cavaliers’ home venue. This was the start of James’ twenty-one-year professional career, and it was here that he became inextricably attached to the team after his return from Miami.
Following the Lakers’ exciting 121-115 victory over the Cavaliers on Saturday night—possibly one of James’ final homecoming games—the 38-year-old center had an impact on the museum’s exhibit.
James expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to show his support for his foundation and community. For the Lakers, James recorded a career-high 22 points, six rebounds, and six assists in a 10-7 victory over the Cavaliers (8-8).
The normal admission price to the museum is $23, in commemoration of the number on James’ jersey. Those who are affiliated with the I Promise School will have access to work opportunities through House Three Thirty’s employment training program.
These folks will include children, parents, teachers, and other family members. The entire sales revenue will go to House Three Thirty. Akron Public Schools and the LeBron James Family Foundation worked together to take over the school.
He went on to say that it is “pretty cool” that James has been able to give back to his town and make it a place where people want to live by drawing on his life experiences. I am, to tell you the truth. I have every right to be proud of my foundation’s achievements, which have been significant. My neighborhood has many things to be proud of, and the museum is undoubtedly one of them.
