Mbappé finally opens up about Messi!

After the Argentina captain unexpectedly departed Barcelona in 2021 and picked Paris as his next destination, PSG held the trio of Neymar, Messi, and Mbappe.

Despite winning successive Ligue 1 titles, the trio played together for three years and achieved little more than the norm as the squad fell short in the UEFA Champions League.

Messi left at the end of his contract, leaving European football to join Inter Miami in the MLS, while the Brazilian playmaker joined Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

The Ligue 1 champions defeated Toulouse 2-0 at Parc des Princes, thanks to goals from Lee Kang-in and a stunning finish from Mbappe.

According to BR Football, the Frenchman became the all-time leading scorer at PSG’s home stadium after scoring his 111th goal during the 2023 Trophée des Champions.

After the game, Mbappe was asked if he missed the former Barcelona captain, and his reaction astounded supporters.

“You always miss not playing with Leo Messi anymore! For an attacker like me, who likes to attack spaces, with him, you have the certainty that you can get the ball. It was a luxury that almost only he can give you! Beyond that, playing with Messi was special,” he said.

Messi has helped Inter Miami win its first trophy since leaving Paris and returned to the city last October to collect his record-extending eighth Ballon d’Or.
