Roberto Firmino and Fabinho, two former Liverpool players, have been sighted at Anfield to watch their old team play Newcastle.

Both Firmino and Fabinho signed with Saudi Pro League teams after leaving Liverpool in the summer, with Firmino joining Al Ahli and Fabinho joining Al Ittihad.

And on the first day of 2024, they are already back in Merseyside to see the Reds play.

Liverpool could take a three-point lead over Newcastle at the top of the Premier League when they play each other at Anfield.

Firmino and Fabinho are just two of the important players that Jurgen Klopp lost throughout the offseason.

However, Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister are establishing a new-look midfield and are doing a great job in his place.

Jordan Henderson left Liverpool in the summer to join Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq, marking the other midfield departure.

But since the Saudi Pro League was on vacation, the former captain of the Reds was not present.

This past weekend was the division’s final game before a month-long break.

Al Hilal will top the Saudi Pro League when it returns in February.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, a former Fulham player, leads the team up front as they lead Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr by seven points.

Even the possibility of Firmino joining the Premier League again has been floated.

The 32-year-old has struggled in Saudi Arabia, and Turkish teams are considering a move, as are other Saudi Pro League teams.
