According to Vogue, they “naturally gravitated toward one another for group projects.” Years later, when Green was well-established in the NBA and Renee was pursuing her acting and singing careers, they reconnected for a first date in Los Angeles.

Renee told Essence that they spent the entire day in a rooftop pool catching up and talking for hours. The reality star and actress described their relationship as “best friends” after their first date: “We really are best friends.”

Green proposed to Renee on January 19, 2019, in a beautiful environment surrounded by their family. The couple posted a video of the proposal, which began with the couple and their children taking a helicopter flight to a boat. Green then got down on one knee in front of their loved ones and proposed.

After a three-year engagement owing to COVID-19 delays and Renee’s pregnancy, they married on August 14, 2022. According to Vogue, they exchanged vows in front of a gathering of family and close friends, including some NBA stars, at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego.

Green revealed in an E! News interview from 2022 that DJ was with him in the locker room after a Dubs practice and his then-5-year-old son said, “‘All right, Daddy, I’m going to rebound for Steph [Curry],'” Green said. “And Juan [Toscano-Anderson] was like, ‘That’s insane.'” He’s simply casually talking about how he’s going to rebound for the greatest shooter in basketball history.”

“I know he doesn’t quite understand it yet,” Green remarked. ‘Dude, you’re going to rebound for Steph Curry,’ he said. That was just an amazing experience.'” The NBA player also claimed that DJ wanders about the Chase Center as if he owns it, but he’s not surprised because every staff member and employee welcomes his kid enthusiastically.
