Jordan Henderson, a former Liverpool captain, and Al-Ettifaq have dropped a recent victory.
Steven Gerrard, a Liverpool great, is now the head coach of Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.
They last won on October 28 and have had one win in their last 13 games across all competitions, leaving them just eight points above the relegation zone.
Gerrard believed they would finally grab three points this week against Al Hazem, who are currently bottom of the league. Demarai Gray’s goal, however, was canceled out by a last-minute equalizer, resulting in a tie.

The Liverpool veteran is under pressure as a result of his bad performance on the pitch. To help turn things around, he’s advocating for new additions in the January transfer window.
“I am the first to accept responsibility, and I will not blame anyone,” Gerrard declared following this week’s 1-1 tie with Al-Ettifaq.
“Al Kuwaykibi came on as a substitute against Al-Nassr and performed admirably, so he deserved to start.”
“I am well aware of our financial capacity, and we have the opportunity to make signings that will benefit the team.” Other teams have players who have scored 13 goals. We have Moussa (Dembélé) with eight goals, Gini Wijnaldum with six goals, and the rest with one or two goals.”

The Saudi Pro League is presently on hiatus, with clubs not expected to return until mid-February. This gives Gerrard time to think and appraise where Al-Ettifaq, his squad, can develop. With only seven goals, their leading scorer, Moussa Dembélé, may need to raise his game.
According to the Daily Mirror, Gerrard may try to sign Roberto Firmino. Firmino used to play alongside Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum at Liverpool, but he isn’t seeing much action at his new club, Al-Ahli.

“I obviously know Bobby extremely well, I’ve been a massive fan,” Gerrard remarked of Firmino. I’ve been following him for years. He is currently playing for Al-Ahli, thus I am unable to remark on the matter. But I’ve admired Bobby Firmino since the first time I saw him and am a tremendous fan.”
