Antony had an ‘ABYSMAL’ performance in Manchester United’s loss to Nottingham Forest, with 12 dropped balls and 6 lost duels

Manchester United were defeated yet again on Saturday. After such a strong performance against Aston Villa, few expected a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Gary Neville slams ‘inconsistent and dreadful’ Manchester United, stating Erik ten Hag’s team is ‘back to their worst’ following a listless performance against Nottingham Forest

Although Marcus Rashford quickly brought the match back to life, on a day when Manchester United’s defense was ineffectual, Andre Onana’s net shook once again, condemning them to suffer their second defeat. This season’s EPL ranking is 9.

In actuality, the Red Devils were in a stronger position than their opponents, but difficulty capitalizing on opportunities and shallow performances from a few individuals, most notably Antony, caused things to spiral out of Man Utd’s control.

When Antony was hauled off the pitch in the 54th minute against Forest, Erik ten Hag began to worry that his favorite student would jeopardize his coaching position at Old Trafford.

According to Sofa Score statistics, Antony lost the ball 12 times and won only 4/10 disagreement situations. Antony left no marks on the pitch throughout his time. Number 21 only had one effective passing situation, but he was unable to fire any shoots, crosses, or crucial passes.

Antony continued to bore MU fans with tedious but ineffectual handling situations as usual. Players born in 2000 were unable to provide much defensive support, losing 6/10 duels.

Schmeichel criticizes Antony for his terrible Forest performance.

As a SuperSport pundit, Schmeichel singled out Antony for criticism against Nottingham Forest.

“He’s had an opportunity for a long time, this is a player that hasn’t scored this season, he’s not made an assist and he’s not scored, it’s like he’s not understanding the game.”

The game in question is football, as Antony continues to struggle and appears incapable of contributing to United’s goals. Schmeichel proceeded to chastise the winger for his lack of fundamentals.

“As a winger, you expect them to run into this area [the byline] and cross the ball with their right foot, but he doesn’t… He’s trying here, he’s trying, but he doesn’t have the pace, and he knows it.

“We don’t know what the message is from the manager, he might’ve been asked to do what he’s been doing, then the manager would be responsible for no assists, no goals all of this season, actually back to April of this year.”

Antony’s opportunities at United are dwindling.

Saturday night was simply another reminder of Antony’s limited opportunities, which are running out.

He struggled against Forest and was overshadowed by Amad Diallo, who was making his comeback after a near six-month injury layoff.

With Alejandro Garnacho nearly certain to start on the right when the front three are fit, Antony’s chances are about to dry up, and if Amad is to overtake him, it’s difficult to see where he gets minutes.
