Lionel Messi has issued an unsettling message to his opponents as he prepares for the 2024 MLS season with Inter Miami.

With the 2024 MLS season not starting until the end of February, Messi could be forgiven for taking it easy over the holidays. However, on Wednesday, he posted a selfie of himself and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo in the gym on social media, and he appears to be in the best form of his career.

Messi began his career in the United States by winning the first League Cup, but Inter Miami was unable to advance to the MLS play-offs. After a few minor injuries hampered the latter few months of the 2023 season, he’s certainly keen to have a better 2024 season.

One Inter Miami supporter commented on the photo of a shredded Messi at the gym, saying, “Messi is cooking something special for 2024.”

Luis Suarez, a close friend and former Barcelona teammate, has joined Messi in Miami. With the Uruguayan as his attacking partner, a fully-fit and shredded Messi may be on his way to wreaking havoc.
