The availability of San Antonio Spurs youngster Victor Wembanyama for Thursday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, the first of a back-to-back between the two clubs, was unknown.
Coach Gregg Popovich told reporters following Tuesday’s loss to the Utah Jazz that Wembanyama would miss both legs of the back-to-back after injured his ankle against the Jazz on Saturday.
Wembanyama was not listed as injured, so he is expected to play Thursday against the Blazers, which means he will sit Friday.
Things can change in the days coming up to the games, but Wembanyama should play on Thursday for the time being. The Spurs and Blazers will face off at 9 p.m. CT.
