According to Christopher Michel of SPORT1, Manchester United has set its sights on PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko.

The Belgium international has been one of the greatest performers in the Eredivisie this season, and his efforts have helped PSV remain unbeaten, becoming Europe’s only team with a perfect record.

United have been dealing with a non-existent threat on the right wing this season, as Jadon Sancho and Antony have combined for zero goals. Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho have mostly played on the left side. While Garnacho has been impressive, Rashford is currently in a slump.

As a result, United has targeted Bakayoko to provide the needed danger from the right wing, which United has lacked all season.

Bakayoko is under contract at The Philips Stadion until June 2026, and his market worth is projected to be £34.7 million. 

Exciting winger Bakayoko is one of Europe’s most exciting young wingers this season, making waves with his exploits for Peter Bosz’s team.

Bakayoko has emerged as a vital figure in the final third since breaking into the first-team squad in the 2021/22 season. In 27 appearances during the 2023/24 season, he has four goals and 13 assists. Bakayoko’s contribution has been critical in PSV’s strong start to the Eredivisie season, with the club winning all 16 games.

The young forward’s remarkable performances have piqued the interest of high-profile clubs, with Manchester United apparently examining him as a possible signing.

Bakayoko is a skilled chance creator and goal-scoring threat known for his ingenuity in the final third. His abilities include excelling in shoulder-to-shoulder duels, displaying high physical strength, and demonstrating long-distance speed. Despite occasionally having difficulty breaking away from a stop, Bakayoko compensates with great changes of direction, balance, and footwork.

Furthermore, because of his jumping reach and body power, he energetically presses opponents, forces mistakes, tracks back well, and holds his own in aerial duels.
