Ronaldo took the lead in the 2023 scoring race when Karim Benzema made a mistake.
Cristiano Ronaldo (at both club and national team levels) outscored everyone else in 2023. In the last game for Al Nassr, he scored with a lot of help from his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema.
In the 19th minute of the match at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Karim Benzema gave an Al Nassr player a leg kick, giving Al Ittihad a penalty kick. Cristiano Ronaldo took advantage of the situation to tie the game at one. That was the Portuguese superstar’s 52nd direct goal of 2023.

In the 58th minute, Otavio was fouled in the restricted area by former Real Madrid player Fabinho. Al Ittihad continues to be fined.
CR7 finished calmly with an unstoppable shot into the net even in their second meeting with goalie Abdullah Al Muaiouf. Had he been more fortunate, Ronaldo could have ended up with 54 goals in 2023 from his first-half effort that smacked against the crossbar.
After scoring twice from the penalty spot, Ronaldo climbed to the top of the list of strikers with the most goals in 2023. With 53 goals, the former Manchester United player is two goals ahead of both Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane, who each have 52 goals. Third place goes to Erling Haaland, who has 50 goals. Ronaldo’s number one ranking will not be challenged in 2023 since the three rivals will not be playing any more games together.
“He succeeded. Al Nassr’s fan page congratulated Ronaldo on his remarkable achievement at the age of 38, calling it a record for the “greatest player of all time.”
Ronaldo will play an early morning game on December 31 against Al Taawon in order to break his own record. Out of his 53 goals, Ronaldo scored 43 while sporting the Al Nassr shirt. He also contributed 13 assists. Every 78 minutes, Ronaldo scores a goal or provides an assist.
This season, Ronaldo has scored 19 goals and provided nine assists in just 17 games. For 2023–2024, he is leading the Saudi Pro League in both assists and scoring.
Ronaldo’s fantastic performance helped Al Nassr defeat Al Ittihad 5-2 in round 17 of the SPL, reducing Al Hilal’s lead to seven points.
