In the final moments of the Chiefs’ Christmas Day loss to the Raiders in Las Vegas, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs appeared to shed a tear.
The Raiders beat the defending Super Bowl winners, the Chiefs, 20-14, at Arrowhead Stadium, ruining their Christmas celebrations.
Additionally, cameras captured the quarterback on the sidelines, staring mistily at the clock as the last minute of play expired.
The broadcast focused on Mahomes, who had tears in his eyes and was biting his lip to keep them away as the Raiders started to celebrate their joyous victory.
The signal caller had expressed his feelings in a slightly more hostile manner earlier in the game.
Observations showed him scolding his offensive linemen as the defending Super Bowl winners found it difficult to penetrate the Raiders’ defense.
Mahomes only had 97 passing yards in the first half of Monday’s game, and he also had one “pick six” moment following an equally costly turnover.
The 28-year-old gave up 14 points in seven seconds as the Chiefs led 17–7 at the half after both mistakes resulted in defensive touchdowns.
After yelling at the officials and tossing his helmet to the ground in protest of a legitimate offside call against the Buffalo Bills, Mahomes was fined $50,000.
The quarterback did not conceal his annoyance during the Patriots’ victory last week either. Marte Mapu picked up Mahomes, who tossed his helmet once again.
