The 36-year-old Uruguayan striker joins the Florida club co-owned by David Beckham following a highly successful year with Gremio.

Suarez scored 17 goals and registered 11 assists in 33 league appearances for the Brazilian club, which nearly lost the title to Palmeiras, with another new domestic challenge on the horizon.

“I’m very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami,” the South American legend remarked.

“I can’t wait to get started, and I’m ready to put in the effort necessary to make my dream of winning more titles with this fantastic club a reality.”

“With our shared ambition, I’m optimistic about what we can accomplish.”

“I will do everything in my power to bring joy to these great fans I’ve heard so much about while wearing Inter Miami colors, and I look forward to reuniting with old friends and players.”

“I’m also eager to meet my new team-mates and coaches.”

“We are delighted to have a player of Luis’ quality and passion for the game join our club,” Beckham continued.

“He joins a squad that is inspiring the next generation and we look forward to seeing him take to the field with both former team-mates and young players from our academy.”

Suarez will be reunited with Messi in Miami, as well as with two other ex-Barcelona teammates, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

The Leagues Cup champions return to competitive play on February 22 when they host Real Salt Lake on the first day of the 2024 Major Soccer League season.

In the next weeks, Gerardo Martino’s team will play warm-up games against Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Vissel Kobe, and Newell’s Old Boys.
