A statue of Messi recently inaugurated in India has made fans groan to the heavens.
As the greatest player in history, Messi is honored everywhere in the world. It is no longer strange for an Argentine player to have a statue built.
However, the newly inaugurated Messi statue in India has become a subject of ridicule from fans. Most opinions say that the statue is too ugly and does not resemble Messi at all.
Compared to the real-life version of Messi, the Messi statue has a big back, muscular arms, a slim physique and a face that has nothing to do with the star currently wearing the Inter Miami shirt.
On social networks, fans competed to mock the newly inaugurated statue in India. “This is Alvaro Negredo, not Messi,” said one person who said the statue looked like the Spanish player.
“I can’t recognize that this is Messi”, “Is this version of Messi lifting weights, but his biceps are so big”, “Other than the number 10 shirt of the Argentina national team, this statue has nothing to do with Messi”, are some other comments.
Messi is currently spending Christmas with his family in Rosario, Argentina. The 36-year-old player will return to the US in early January to prepare for the new season.
Messi’s team will play a total of 6 friendly matches to prepare for the new MLS season starting in February. Notably, Ronaldo’s encounter with Al Nassr on February 1 in Saudi Arabia.
