Real Madrid and Barcelona Monitoring Mason Greenwood as Manchester United Contemplates Selling Him
There is growing interest from LaLiga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona in Mason Greenwood, who has been impressing on loan at Getafe. Manchester United has reportedly made the decision to permanently part ways with the talented forward.
Since joining Getafe on transfer deadline day, the 22-year-old Englishman has made a strong impression with his performances, scoring five goals and showcasing his all-round abilities. Even Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann praised Greenwood, acknowledging the problems he caused during their recent encounter, which ended in a 3-3 draw for Getafe.
Greenwood’s impact has sparked Getafe’s desire to secure his services on a permanent basis, but if Real Madrid and Barcelona intensify their interest, a high-profile transfer could be on the horizon for the young talent.
It is worth noting that Greenwood faced legal issues in January 2022, with charges of attempted ɾаρе, аssаult, and coercive control. However, he denied all allegations, and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) later dropped the charges. Manchester United initially considered reintegrating him into their squad, but the decision was met with mixed reactions from fans. Consequently, the club opted to loan him to Getafe, and now it seems they are inclined to sell him permanently at the end of the season.
