Rasmus Hojlund has had difficulty adjusting to life in the Premier League. During Sunday’s match against Liverpool, the £72 million striker blew a great chance to score his first goal in the top division.

The Red Devils, who were viewed as underdogs, surprised everyone by outlasting expectations and nearly winning when Hojlund was worn down in the second half. With his first touch, the 20-year-old showed superb control, but sadly, he fired the ball straight at goalkeeper Alisson.

Manchester United supporters vented their fury on social media, claiming that the home club, who were not playing at their best, was fortunate to have missed this opportunity.

One fan wrote, “Hojlund, that’s just unforgivable, especially when you’re 0 for 14 in the Prem.” Another tweet mentioned, “Sometimes you wonder how Rasmus Hojlund hasn’t scored a single Premier League goal, but then you see him shoot.”  

Criticism continued to pour in, with one sarcastically commenting, “Hojlund doesn’t score because he gets no service.”

Despite the missed opportunity, it was ultimately a positive result for Erik ten Hag’s team, as they secured an unexpecteԀ point in the goalless draw.

With several players absent, many predicted a similar outcome to last season’s 7-0 defeat. Liverpool had the upper hand, but Manchester United defended well and had hopes of snatching a victory.
