Following his historic victory, Messi was welcomed on the field by his two sons, who gave their father a hearty embrace.

With a huge smile on his face, Messi was seen on camera embracing his sons with enthusiasm while on his knees. It was a precious moment. The lads, dressed in purple jerseys with their father’s number ten on the back, encircled him with their arms.

The Indian Express and Daily Mail report that Thiago, Messi’s son, took down the lyrics to “Muchachos Ahora Nos Volvimos an Ilusionar” before the game as a way to show support for his father. His mother Antonella posted the lyrics on her Instagram Story.

Following the victory, Roccuzzo posted a number of endearing images of the family having fun.

“I’m not even sure where to begin,” she captioned the photo in the gallery. “We are really proud of you, @leomessi. We appreciate you teaching us to never give up and to persevere till the very end. You are a world champion, and we are aware of the hardships you endured and the goals you set for yourself. Thank you!”
